“Our home, a typical pacific northwest home built in 1940, didn't have A/C or a heat pump system that I usually see in newer homes. Instead we had a gas fireplace in the middle of the house with baseboard heating in a few of the bedrooms. We knew going into the process of upgrading the system that it was going to be expensive because we needed a whole system including ductwork to be installed. We saved over two years to afford this, and I was so glad we did!
With that said, we got a few bids from comparable companies around Longview, WA. However the service we received from Entek from start to finish was amazing. I usually don't leave reviews, but I've been recommending this company to family and friends ever since we got the work completed because it was such a transparent and easy process for us.
Let me explain….
First, I work odd hours, so most of the scheduling and management of vendors in the house is done by my wife. I'm used to hearing stories about company representatives talking down to my wife or asking for 'the husband' to be included on decisions before things move forward. I fully trust my wife, she's awesome, and would prefer things be handled by her when I'm not around. From the first call to Entek to the final walkthrough, the Entek employees were extremely respectful to my wife and my home. Regardless if I asked them you re-explain things they may have already, or the hundreds of questions we had about the system, tax incentives, install timeline, etc…..They were fantastic throughout it all.
The Bid/Scheduling:
We worked with Zach who did a walkthrough of the house, learned about our needs and wants, and within the same day we had multiple options for a heating and cooling system. Zach also stated that our bid price was our final price, regardless of hiccups during the install process. They also gave us a 4 day total installation timeline. All very transparent answering all of our questions throughout. 5/5 experience.
Installation:
Because of the above reasons, we decided to go with Entek. We got a date for when the work would start, and sure enough at 8am on the first day the crew was ready to go. They worked throughout each day and nailed the timeline. There were a few issues with the install (when isn't there?), but I never got an increased bill or timeline, just an explanation of the things they had to work through and their resolution for it. Ivo, Tyler, Cooper and Kraig were the install team, and once again, extremely professional. There was never an instance where my wife felt uncomfortable or they mistreated our home or pets. 5/5.
The final full walkthrough had plenty of questions from me, and there was never a rush to get through them. They covered how to use the thermostat, the equipment installed, documentation, and things I should look out for with the new system. They even recommended a few home improvements I could do on my own (insulation missing in places, some of the roof vents needing attention) – That I would have missed since I'm not in the attic often. I was very appreciative of that. 5/5
Final notes:
Entek blew me away, honestly. They weren't the cheapest, but weren't the most expensive either. We chose Entek because of the way they treated us from day one, where we felt we knew we were getting exactly what we needed without any games or unanswered questions. I'm somewhat skeptical of work being done on my house (I've been burned a few times), but Entek knew what they were doing and how to treat us as their customers. The job wasn't paid a cent over the original bid amount and the project was completed right on time. I'm now walking barefoot in my house, thinking about what I'm going to do with all the sweatpants/sweatshirts I've purchased over the last few years to stay comfortable. I have and will continue to highly recommend Entek to anyone who needs heating & cooling solutions for their home.”
